HOW TO DONATE
Donate gently used cellphones and accessories (chargers, SIM cards) for survivors of intimate partner violence and other vulnerable groups.
MAKE A DONATION
You can fill out the google form link below that goes over all of the donation options or you can email us if you have questions. The google form helps us track the donations that are coming in.
PURCHASING
If you prefer to purchase SIM cards or new items instead of donating funds, you can reach out to our team who will connect with organizations, to see if they have outstanding needs. We also suggest low-cost locally available providers such as Koodo, who sell such preloaded SIM cards and can offer deals. For phone-SIM combo packages, Walmart and Best Buy each have good options.
CHEQUES
We are asking donors that cheques be made out directly to the participating organization with Project Connect in the memo line. This enables you to receive the appropriate tax benefits as they are a registered charity. If cheques are the preferred method of donation but you do not have a specific organization that you wish to direct the cheque to, please reach out to projectconnectkingston@gmail.com.
CASH
For cash donations, made directly to the participating organizations, please place them in envelopes labelled Project Connect. If you are not able/willing to do this, we can accept monetary donations on behalf of these organizations and we will allocate the cash equitably between the organizations based on needs assessments.
ONLINE
Some of the organizations accept donations through Canada Helps or e-transfers (see organizations tab for the links). In the optional message box, you may indicate that the donation be directed for Project Connect.
